Day Four...Post-Op. Day Five Overall.

Does it matter? Not really, but there's nothing else to think about!

Dr Park came by this morning. The plan is to stop fluids (but leave iv in case we have to restart), only give Tylenol, monitor input and output.  But that was at 8 and it's 1130 and they still haven't stopped the fluids. Not sure how long they will want to monitor him after they stop.

He's been pretty quiet this morning. A little grumpy. Took a short 45 min nap and then we went for a walk again. He's awake much more but not very lively. He's just been mostly looking at things quietly. He saw a clock and said cuckoo on the walk but that was it other than a couple of little smiles.

So we're just kinda hanging out waiting to hear something. His incision is draining a little so waiting for them to come check that, too. Should be the same guy in charge of stopping the fluids

Until then..

Good signs of feeling better!

Struggling to nap. Took almost an hour to get him to fall asleep and the nurse comes in 7 minutes later. Blessedly, she offered to give us an hour.

He woke up 45 minutes later and was like this. Must not have been happy to still be here.
So we went for a walk. That was his face pretty much the whole time.

Except when Dad was looking for lions. Then he smiled and roared.

And went back to staring.

Found the other chapel. Prettier outside but just chairs and mats inside. However, contrary to the first chapel's sign AND the website it says there is daily Mass at noon. So frustrating since everything else says there is only Sunday Mass at this time. Would have been nice to go.

Ordered some broccoli for lunch. He was so excited. But it was way too hard for him to eat. So Dad took it down stairs and microwaved it for 5 minites. Still inedible,  though now more rubbery. He was happy to chew on it and spit it out, though!

Our new protocol. Door opens, Judah hides.

Or, someone starts talking and Judah plays dead. But keeps those eye slits and listens.

I kid you not. He was sitting there playing on the table with me and the nurse started to talk and he went limp.
