Sneaky kid

Did you see the picture of her sleeping on the floor? Well when I went in after she woke up and was calling me (err, crying like someone was torturing her) this is what I found. And she refuses to admit she slept on the floor, even after I showed her a picture! Goofy kid!

Exhausting work

Hey, I had a busy weekend and now I'm busy recovering...and repairing my knee!

Only Selah...

Can be a complete nightmare all morning and then melt your heart when you see her sleeping on the floor. she doesn't nap anymore (NOT by MY choice) but after a long weekend, I was determined she was today. She started out in the bed, then was in the crib (as punishment for getting out of the bed), and then apparently fell asleep on the floor. So, while she didn't listen (and she PROMISED she wouldn't get out) it's hard to be mad since she is both asleep and angelic-looking. Although it is obvious she had a little fun first since her bookcase has beeen destroyed.

First set of stitches

Amazingly, we've been doing this kid-thing for 9 1/2 years already and this is our first set of stitches! There was a glue episode (they super-glued a gash on his face) when Jonah was 4 and at least one other time we probably should have taken him in for stitches but this was the first time he (or any other kid) actually had to be sown up. Here's hoping it's not the beginning of a trend!

Oh! You'd probably like to know what happened! Well, they were playing on the giant, inflatable water slide, having a good ol' time. Jonah decided to jump from the top onto the slide. And, being inflated, he bounced. Right off. When he hit the ground, 3 of his front top teeth went into his knee. He's such a champ, though. Didn't even realize he was bleeding for a few minutes. And never shed a tear!

Pictures at the Park

Next time I'm taking video. Pictures with these kids is a comedy of errors. And then there's their dad who has NO patience for any of this (even less than the kids).  But, here's what we got...
Jonah- 9 1/2 years

Noah- 5 1/2 years

Seriously, this is the cool way to wear your sunglasses!!

Selah - 2 1/2 years

Micah- 17 months

Boom! Right to the face!

Watch where you're kicking next time!!!
(He wasn't actually hit by the ball, he tossed it up as I was taking the picture. But it was just too perfect to not post.)

Selah's singing
Noah's just chilling
Jonah's going nuts.
Micah's run off.

Selah's looking sweet.
Noah's still in lala land.
Jonah cannot believe his unfortunate luck.
Micah's still missing.

Selah can be SO sweet sometimes.

I can't believe Micah did that!
Did what?
Did you see where he was?
No. Where was he?
Oh, well, if you didn't see, I can't tell you!!

Jonah, is that REALLY where he was??
(This is the best I got of the four of them. Disappointing but at least they're all there!)

The best of the family.

Actually, maybe this is slightly better.
Not the best, but again, we're all here!

Meemaw and Poppy (my parents) with the kids.
So here's your Selah overload.  Bryan was off playing ball with the boys and I was following Selah around. It wasn't meant to be unfair! (Though I don't think she could get much cuter!!)

Is this wet?

Yep, it's wet.

AHH! I don't want my dress to get wet!

I should probably take my shoes off!

Ahh, that's better!

Oh no! I forgot where I left my sunglasses!

But, Mom! She's allowed in the fountain!

Whew! Found my sunglasses!

I love little footprints!

Hey, I'm a woman. It's hard to make up our minds.

Anything you can do, I can do better!

Here I go!

Actually, I think  I'll jump off this way instead.

Water! Do I dare?

Definitely!!

She caught me. Guess I'll just splash through the puddles!

That was fun! Let's do it again!!

Rain rain PLEASE go away!

Roads seem to be a bit flooded. (Don't worry, Bryan was driving when I took this!)

Such a cutie!

Perhaps her eyes are bigger than her stomach?

Seems Selah was super hungry this morning! And this was after the rice krispies! Needless to say I had to sweep the kitchen floor twice this morning. (She didn't eat it all but did find it fun to crush the rest on the floor.)

Ball!!

Micah has a bit of a ball obsession. Especially soccer balls. Bryan came home with a new" Micah-sized" ball today. He was thrilled!

Art

The boys are having a great time painting their castles!

Nope it's mine!

Everything is Selah's. Even baby boy clothes that are for an infant. She found a box of baby boy clothes, and had to wear them today. The shirt is 12 months, the pajama pants are 9. They actually fit pretty well, considering.

Do you see that yellow spot?

That's a fruit snack wrapper. Selah is hiding on the top bunk under that blanket eating a fruit snack she snuck. No wonder she never eats her meals.

Work smarter not harder

Bryan told Jonah to sweep the grass off the sidewalk. He said this was too hard. apparently it was easier to find 2 extension cords and a fan and attempt to blow it off.

Selah's fashion update.

Seems she didn't like those new underwear as well as we thought. Yes, they're destroyed. (And yes, my children often play in the road.)

Fashion statements

Selah's our resident fashion statement maker around here. And, in preparation for some potty training, we bought her some Dora underwear. She was so excited she had to wear all 3 pairs at the same time (over her diaper). And we definitely could not put pants back on over them! What a kid.

Bacon bits wrapped in hard salami

Does it get any less healthy than that???

Nose are indeed holes

Here's that ball that I just removed from Selah's nose. And she got upset when I wouldn't give it back. I fear this is only the beginning.

Rocks

So a couple weeks ago Selah was complaining about rocks in her ears. We laughed, but then thought we might need to check that out, maybe they were infected. (I may have posted about this, can't remember.) Turned out both ears were very infected, but they didn't see any rocks. Today she had a" recheck" to make sure the infection was gone. Well, the left ear is still very infected. The right? Couldn't tell, there was too much wax in the way. Doctor removes "wax" after quite a bit of work, and comments on how hard it was! (Selah was a trouper for all this, by the way.) Turns out, not wax. A rock. Probably wasn't there when she initially went in...perhaps from the mud incident over the weekend?

The train ate my hair Mommy!

I need NEW hair right here!
(Well, seeing how much hair the train" ate," I think she might! She has quite a bald spot, poor kid.)
