Love it!

This is our new double stroller, the Combi Twin Sport. Yes, I said double...and look how small it is folded up!! It's light-weight, quick and easy to fold, and is SO compact! I'm in love! We had looked at this stroller when I was still pregnant with Micah, but there were 2 problems. 1) the only infant car seat that attaches is the Combi brand-which is almost $200 just for that car seat and 2)the kids are side-by-side with no protection. We knew Selah would attack Micah, even before we saw her with him. And then after he was born, well it seemed like too great a risk to his life. Thankfully, some friends gave us a double stroller that connected with our car seat and we didn't have to buy a stroller at all. Unfortunately, that stroller BARELY fits in the van, and leaves no room at all in the back for anything else. Now that Micah is bigger and has long since outgrown the infant car seat,
we decided it was time. It will make traveling to FL so much easier in a few weeks! (The only problem is that we now have 5 strollers and they all are wonderful in different situations. I refuse to get rid of any of them-which drives Bryan a little nuts.)

Ducks are invadng my house!

I was trying to clean the bathroom-with Selah's help, of course- and I had to leave the room for a minute. I returned to this. Guess the duck needed some water.

Trains

Some very nice friends were kind enough to give us their train table, trains and and train tracks that their children had outgrown. As you can imagine, our children have done nothing but play trains since then. We've had "Glacier Gulch" (from the Polar Express) across the entire basement- makes doing laundry even more fun than normal! And even Mr Micah is getting in on the action. He was sitting over at that basket with his back to the table (that's his sister's doll, of course, not his.) And he managed to get himself all the way over to the table and pull himself to his feet. Life's about to get even more interesting...

Silly bandz

Some "genius" sure did make a killing off of that idea, didn't he? Selah has a lot of fun playing with them, cutting off the circulation in her arm, chewing them like gum, and pulling them apart until they break.

I started the story of the day Micah was born...

12:00 am   Packed bag for Micah and I, then went to bed.

4:15 am     Got up and woke Selah to give her one last middle of the night cup.  (Now she's Daddy's problem before 6 am!)

4:30 am   Showered, dressed, etc.

5:00 am   Tried to round stuff up, and keep it all organized and simple.

5:10 am    Blow-dried hair...significant because I couldn't hear...

5:27 am    Realized I should open door for Tammy

5:28 am    Found Eric on my doorstep...

So it's kind of a long story, but the short version is we had some miscommunication and a plan change at the last minute (on my part) which resulted in a plan change at the last minute on Eric and Tammy's part.  I thought it would just be easier on Tammy if she took me to the hospital and Bryan stayed with the kids until they were all up and fed.  But like I said, there was some miscommunication, SO...

Eric ended up taking me to the hospital.  Now let me tell you, it is quite an experience to have someone else's husband take you to the hospital to have a baby.  The average man probably would have just dropped me off at the door and been on his way.  But no one has ever called Eric average!  He wouldn't hear of dropping me off- I was going in to have a baby, after all! (Mind you, it was an induction, I was not in labor...but that's a minor point.)  He also wouldn't hear of letting me carry my bags. I had to fight him to carry my water bottle!

So, we arrive at Labor and Delivery- after Eric has befriended every person we have met along the way- and they, of course, have no record of me being scheduled for an induction!  But thankfully, they were able to get everything straightened out and after a few more pictures, I was taken to a room, and then Eric headed to work.  And, as would be expected, there was talk all day of the lady who was brought in by someone else's husband :)

Waiting while they figure out what to do with me.

The admissions person who normally checks you in was sick so the Charge Nurse was filling in....it took awhile as she wasn't used to all this!  Poor lady!

Well, once Eric left, some of the confusion got cleared up, and Tammy came up to "hang out" at the hospital with me.  I admit, it was a little weird to be at the hospital in labor without Bryan, but Tammy is a whole lot more talkative than Bryan early in the morning!
.....................................
Well that's what I wrote 8 months ago...
I don't remember a whole lot of details now, but Tammy left to go be with the little 3 and she sent me these pictures to reassure me that the kids were fine...this was a big step for me leaving them.  I tried to convince Bryan to just stay home with them until after I had Micah and they could all come up.  However, he really wanted to be there so I tried to contain my panic knowing that Tammy is great with kids.  Everyone did fine, of course...except maybe Bryan who probably wished he had stayed home.... (I'm kidding, I'm sure he didn't really feel that way, or not for long anyway!)

The kids were watching a movie on the computer.  Selah looks so little and cute!  I hardly remember that stage with her at all. So sad.
So by the time Bryan got to the hospital I had FINALLY gotten my epidural.  You think when you walk in asking for an epidural BEFORE they start the pictocin  you'd have one before you make it to 8 centimeters.  Well, I guess being able to locate the anesthesiologist is a necessity.  Anyway, Bryan was at the hospital for about an hour before Micah was born, most of that waiting for the doctor to arrive.  The delivery itself was WAY too much like the delivery with Jonah and made me never want to do that again.  I'll spare you, but I still feel woozy even thinking about it.

I am certain I have a ton of pictures that have never been posted, but I don't have time for that right now...as much fun as it would be to look through!  Here's a link to his first picture and you can use the area on the right side bar to check out posts from December- or click here but it lists them backwards and I don't know how to change that.  There's a couple cute videos of Selah with Micah that I had forgotten about.  Terrible quality but cute notheless.

Oh...and the contest on his weight...My sister-in-law, Keri, won.  She said he had to be at least 9 lbs 8oz so I could reclaim the title of the heaviest Wilhelm.  (Jonah was the biggest up until Keri had our niece in Nov 2008.  She was 9 lbs 7 oz...5 weeks early!)  Guess I should have been yelling at her during his delivery....

Selah's bed

Selah is one of those kids who needs everything she can find in her bed at night. She's been known to sleep with trains, the boys' clothes, hangars, and, of course, always blankets, stuffed animals, a pillow (which she doesn't use but must have) and books. Sometimes I can't find her when I go to check on her. And it takes me forever to clear all of this junk out of her bed everynight...in hopes that she'll sleep better. (She doesn't, in case you wondered. She still gets up for milk at least once per night. But that's daddy's problem!) And although you can't really tell, there's a giant talking puppy underneath her. What a sweetie.

Mmmm. Coffee. It's good.

That's what she says as she steals my coffee. Thankfully, it's decaf...could you imagine if it wasn't??? Shudder.

Just a couple random pics

Only have a minute...well, not even that, really.  But laundry isn't going to run away and the kids can PROBABLY wait an extra 5 minutes for lunch...in theory...

Buddies

Growing up right before our eyes!

She can't believe it either!

Looks like he's growing up...and out...too!

Such a sweetheart

She keeps us on our toes!

Micah's afraid she might fall.

He's learned to scoot backwards...but usually that isn't where he wants to be.  Poor kid's too fat to get his belly up and crawl!

5 bathing suits...no pool.  She is going to have words with Daddy!

Stealing trains

She just keeps trying to hold the "baby"  Even though he weighs more than her!

Found an old one

I have a bunch of half started posts that are saved as drafts, and looking through them I found this picture.  Not sure what my plan was 6 months ago since it hasn't a title or anything but a picture...but it's sweet and sad to see Micah so little.  He's just hanging out with Miz Tammy here in the cute little outfit that she and Mr Eric bought him.  The original date on this was January 30th, so Micah was probably about 6 weeks old.  Sure do wish he still curled up and slept on people!
