Sick Jude

We've got a virus in the house...for the third time in 2 weeks.

This little one is down and out with a fever. He's pretty miserable. I hear it in his chest this evening, please pray he can fight it and not need intervention.

Judah Update.

We met with Dr Park (urologist) yesterday to review the results of last week's ultrasound. Despite the fact that the report didn't read great, he was happy with the imaging he saw.

The left side (with the blockage) showed mild improvement compared to his presurgery imaging. Unfortunately, the parenchyma is still thinning. Additionally, the right side showed an increase in fluid.

Dr Park said when he combined the images that he looked at with the report that Judah is eating better and sleeping more comfortably, that was good news. We will remove the stent on the 17th of November and follow up with ultrasounds to watch the progress.

Unfortunately, I had a bunch of technical difficulties leading up to the call and wasn't mentally prepared to ask any of my questions! So for now, I guess we will stick with this and I will try to make time to gather the research regarding the necessity of cathing.

Overall, he is doing SO well. I tried to weigh him this morning, but I guess he thought the scale was dangerous because he wouldn't stand on it. However, his cheeks seem to be plumping up and I'm optimistic that he's finally gaining some weight. He's been eating like a teenage boy ever since he recovered from surgery. It's a beautiful thing- having fought with him for so long just to eat a few bites!

Here's a few pics from tonight as we hang out at Taekwondo. He was practicing his kicks and then telling the boys that he needed them when they came out to get gear.

Finally he was yelling "Mikey, good job!" And " Lijey, good job!" As they jumped over the barricade.

Daddy's Fun and Football's Loud

It's not that I don't love being this child's mom. Nor would I ever begrudge his father the affections. But seriously, I give all the fun in my life up for this child and this is what I get.

Daddy's Fun

Also, we talked about that Bickeyes' game tonight,  too.

National Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation

A friend has been telling me about this incredible treasure a mere 2.5 hours from home. There have been many miracles attributed to pilgrimages here, and I've been planning to bring Judah but time always gets away from me.

Well, we stopped to use the bathroom in the way to Columbus today,  and just so happened to be in Carey, Ohio.  We didn't have much extra time on the way to the game,  but i checked the map and it isn't far off the interstate AND it's open 24 hours.

So we stopped on the way home for just a few minutes.  I look forward to going back and spending more time there!

It was, of course, silent.  And I hear this loud noise and look over....it was Micah opening his (velcro) wallet and lighting candles. Warms my heart.

You can read about this Basilica and the statue that was made for them back in 1875

Ran back in to use the restroom, and saw briefly the treasures in the lower Basilica.

These dresses are all for the statue! Incredible.

Tribute to all the miracles. Crutches and braces no longer needed, as well as other items offered in Thanksgiving.
So we glad we stopped, even though it legnthened an already long day. We prayed for Judah (ultrasound Wednesday and really optimistic!), but also so many friends and family. Thanking God for all the many blessings and miracles he has bestowed on us.

Please keep Susan in your prayers, she starts chemo on Monday.

First Buckeyes Game!

Seven thousand steps today, most of which the kid was on my back. Good thing he's cute and my legs really need the workout.  We found the elevator on the way out, but so many steps on the way to our seats. The burning was incredible. (You'll see we were 2 rows from the top. It's a lot of stairs. And a creepy climb.)

Ohio State!

Just a boy and his dad watching some football.

E-they better sell Buckeyes here or this is a rip-off!

Oh, it's definitely a rip.off and I don't think I saw any Buckeyes for sale. New business opportunity!

It was kind of loud.

Micah hates to have his picture taken.. Selah tolerates it.

This one encourages it.

What Jonah will be doing if he attends any games at U of M. The pushed every time we score. We scored 7 times.

Halftime was a Shrek Show. The bad guy that got Chopped was Michigan!

Getting into it!;

Seemingly random quintet that stopped by and played for us!

Proof Noah was there, too. Jonah had an FTX for ROTC and couldn't join us.  He's starting to see first hand how the AF will rule his life. (He is rather well-Versed thanks for his parents' complaints, but it's not the same as when It happens to you!)

That ham.

Gorgeous sunset

Bryan- is like driving on black grabite, it's so shiny and smooth.  (Nothing life Michigan.)
