Garlic

I was trying to make dinner...guess she wanted to help. (Looks like her daddy, doesn't she?)

Who does she think she is???

I know what you're thinking. It's what I would be thinking if I saw someone else's kid like this. That's why they make a seat belt! Well, let me tell you...I'm not that thick. The problem in "Selah's highchair" (which, by the way she refuses to use and will only use "Bikey's highchair" now) is that the belt is designed in such a way that no matter how tight I get it, she can excape. (We have this problem in the stroller, too. 5-point harness and all, it's horrible.) Now in "Bikey's highchair" I can securely strap her in. But she's smarter than that. She will announce that she is "DONE!" And you will unbuckle her. And THEN she will scream and say "NOT DONE!!". So you leave her and get more food. The next thing you know, she's sitting like this. So you try to strap her back in. And she screams and throws a fit. Now, we all know how Selah is a struggle to feed. SO, 'round here, you go out
of your way to feed her. You play her games for fear she might wither away. Sigh. This is how she ends up like this. (Now I don't let her STAY like this while she eats, instaed we play the "sit DOWN, Selah" game. It's loads of fun and super easy. All you have to do is say "sit DOWN, Selah" everytime she stands up. Which is about every 3-4 seconds.) Gotta love her.

You wouldn't know it...

But that drawer that is open is the only one with clothes still in it. The contents of the rest are mostly in that pile (with a small pile in the living room.) Selah would be a wonderful only child...but as #3 of 4 (especially behind Noah!) She's, well, a lot of work! Good thing she's so cute...

'Sun cream'

Selah loves sunsceen! You may wonder why, so I'll tell you. Putting on "sun cream" virtually always means swimming, which Selah LOVES. There's only one problem here... Selah is allergic to sunscreen. We've tried a few different ones, including the ridiculously expensive sensitive skin kind. She has a reaction every time. So you can imagine my...joy... At finding her smearing "sun cream" on herself. Seems between her and her little brother, we've had WAY too many daytime baths lately.

If you take Selah to the beach...

She will try to find "sand" to play in at home! Someone (Jonah) left the pantry open (again) and Selah has long since decided to forgo an open bathroom door for an open pantry door. Couldn't find the little...dear, so I went in search and found that she had dumped an entire bottle of ckicken bullion granules and was playing in it. Figures. If you're not on facebook, you may not have heard about our numerous poison control calls for our sweetheart who plays with food and eats poison. Had this been fertilizer, she certainly would have eaten it. But, being that it is edible, she is not interested. Gotta love her, she keeps life.....interesting. Always have stories to tell about her!

Floor-lickin' good.

The rest of us might like to lick our plate after a particularly good meal. Selah, on the other hand, licks the floor when she's hungry.

The 'beach' in Detroit

Well it's not Siesta Key now is it? But there is a man made "beach" on Lake St Clair (actually there are many all around.). And it isn't currently closed due to dangerously high levels of E. Coli. So Bryan & the kids had a little sand fun, while Micah and I tried to avoid all icky water and sand...

Pretty Micah

Ever wonder what happens when you wear the same size as your big sister & your mommy is behind on laundry? Now you know.

Our two 'babies'

The product of jealousy

Well, since Micah can take a bath in the little tub, Selah wants to take a bath in the little tub! And she insisted on lying down as well.

Driving the train

The boys were thrilled to get the front car of the train.

Riding the train.

It was in the 90s and very humid. After 3 hours at the zoo, everyone was ready for a nap!

Feeding the giraffes

To kiss or not to kiss

Selah loves frogs. Perhaps she's looking for her Prince. she was uncertain whether or not this frog was real and was afraid to get any closer than this.

One big zucchini

Some friends of ours brought some extra home-grown zucchini to Bible study yesterday...should make a good amount of bread, eh?

Park

We took the kids to the park this evening and I managed to grab a couple of pictures.  (Part of the reason for the lack of pictures lately is that my camera is broken and the flash isn't working.  SO, any indoor picutures come out terrible.  And the other reason is, again, a lack of time.  Sorry, I'm working on it.)

Ahoy, Matey!

Looks like this could be bad...

But by some miracle she actually listened and sat down!

Curious
Sweet

Showing off the big brother skills.

He even caught her at the bottom when Mommy and Micah got trapped at the top!

Not sure he enjoyed the grass all that much.

And is he enjoying her touching his head or is he trying to get away...?

I think Micah is thinking about attacking the bow.
(Which is one of many that my awesome Sister-In-Law, Keri, has made for Selah!)

Looks like there's room on the bench for a couple more...

When there's this many kids, looking at the camera is the only requirement.  Smiles are optional.

Noah

I don't think Selah gets the danger of standing there while "waiting her turn."

I can't remember if I posted about the World Cup yet, but Jonah is now OBSESSED with soccer.  All he does is play soccer.  And it's actually shocking that he is wearing a Buckeyes' football jersey instead of one of his soccer jerseys.
True colors

Gotta one-up the little brother!

Taking a break.
Couldn't you just scoop her up and squeeze her?
Guess she didn't like that idea!

(She actually kept telling me to take more pictures, I have at least 10 just like this. And when I finally stopped and made her get in the van to leave she threw quite a fit.  Just kept yelling "more pictures!"  Scary.)

Why I love having boys

I'm pretty certain that they go home in their underwear at least as often as they get to wear their pants home. But dirty clothes and boys in their underwear are a whole lot easier than teenage girls...

Sleeping Micah

I love sleeping babies. They are one of the cutest things to me. And I think he looks even cuter with his pacifier balanced on his shoulder like that. Hard not to be jealous of him, isn't it?

Hard to believe

But they're only a month apart. Less than, actually! This is Micah (6 months) with his cousin Alazay (5 months). Makes me wonder what Selah & Micah would have looked liked at the same age together!

If you leave the hallway gate open...

You will likely find Selah like this. She loves to sit in the sink, and, unfortunately, can open the bathroom door. Better than playing in the toilet, I guess.

Toledo

We went to the Imagination Station in Toledo, OH for the day and met up with my family.  Posted a few pics on facebook, you can check them out HERE.
