She's awake!

Selah often sneaks around when she gets up in the morning. Today we caught her peeking around the corner spying on us!

What a day.

S: Mom, I need you're help with something.
Me: okay Selah, I'll be right there, one minute.
S: no, I need your help now. Oh fine, I'll just come there!
She walks in with a bracelet stuck to her lip. Goofy kid. She also got a train stuck in get hair. Rough day.

Freedom isn't free

This picture is from September 2011, I didn't manage to get a new version in the last couple trips, but perhaps next time. Memorial Day in our family isn't about barbeques and summer. It's about remember we couldn't have barbeques or enjoy summer as we do without the incredible sacrifice of all those men and women who've laid down their lives for our freedom.

If you've never had the opportunity to go to Arlington, I urge you to go. Perhaps, not with 4 young children all by yourself, but it is a truly humbling experience. And the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknowns is awesome.

As President Truman said, "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned out undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices."

And Jesus said it best when he said, "    No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13.

New tricks

Someone learned a new trick, sitting up all on his own. Of course, we must practice this trick during the night! Took me a few minutes to realize why he was up crying, I was trying to just ignore him!

This girl!

The video is much better, but you'll have to check Facebook for that. Someone took a marker to bed. Wonder when she'll stop coloring everything. She's 4.5 already!!

Future artist?

Elijah enjoyed Coloring with his brother and sister at soccer.

Dessert for dinner?!?

Every now and then, everyone should have dessert for dinner. (Actually they just had dessert before dinner, but it was quite exciting.) Micah could hardly control his excitement.

New pool?

They aren't picky about the size of the pool, as long as it contains water.

Looking handsome

Playing in the garage after church.

Never fear

They've got it all under control

Time flies

This past week marked our littlest one turning 9 months and 5 YEARS since we moved to Michigan. Incredible. As you can see, some things are growing on us.

No need to panic

I'm outside replacing the windshield wipers after having put the Kids to bed when Jonah comes out.
I manage not to scream WHAT?!?! (Only by God's Grace.)

He says he's really sorry to bother me but he really needs me for a minute.

Now, by God's Grace, I Manage not to scream WHY?!? And calmy state I'll be right in.

To which he replies that he thinks I Should come see it now.

Being 9 o'clock already, I pretty much only care if it's going to require an ambulance or life flight.

So I come in and follow him upstairs as he tells me that Micah was crying in the bathroom and he helped him back to bed and he didn't notice any bleeding but now it looks like there is blood all over the toilet. Like lots of blood.

A bit fearful (and annoyed at the prospect of an ER trip on a Saturday night) I enter the bathroom, go to the toilet, and find....marker.

GREEN marker.

Life must be rough when you're color blind.

Don't pray for my safety, pray for Sarah's!

Crime rampant in Detroit over weekend

Detroit sees 17 shootings, 1 stabbing, 8 robberies, 3 murders in 1 weekend

I feel alot safer in Kabul than I would in Detroit.

Prefect ending!

After a day of touring DC-the American Indian museum, Capitol, walking the national mall, and, of course, the air & space museum- the kids are enjoying some mellow mushroom pizza by the Potomac! Mellow mushroom has a gluten and dairy free pizza so they can actually all eat  there, a very rare treat since we don't have one anywhere nearby.  A long happy day should buy me a peaceful night...I hope!

And it's officially one month until Bryan gets home. A good day, indeed.

I'm just a Wilhelm...

Sitting here on Capitol Hill.
