Freedom isn't free

This picture is from September 2011, I didn't manage to get a new version in the last couple trips, but perhaps next time. Memorial Day in our family isn't about barbeques and summer. It's about remember we couldn't have barbeques or enjoy summer as we do without the incredible sacrifice of all those men and women who've laid down their lives for our freedom.

If you've never had the opportunity to go to Arlington, I urge you to go. Perhaps, not with 4 young children all by yourself, but it is a truly humbling experience. And the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknowns is awesome.

As President Truman said, "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned out undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices."

And Jesus said it best when he said, "    No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13.
