Early mornings make long days

How can you be mad at that face? Even when he wants to read books at 4 am, I can't help but just love him.

It was still good until the sun came up when we got up, but this view was so peaceful.  It reminds me of jekyll island.. only much colder.  Replace the snow and dirt pile for sand and dunes, and then you've got the trees that line all the beaches.  I may not like sand or beaches but I do miss jekyll.

Well look who's having a nap at 7 am! Not mom!

Go.  Away.  Cold.

Tomorrow's a ski club day but Bryan decided against it. No gondolas here,  that chair lift will be mighty cold.

Look who loves his broccoli- and those sweet toes peeking out!

Elijah shaped his personal pizza like a piece of pizza tonight. Came out cute, with his token pepperoni (he doesn't like it on pizza,  just plain on the side, but it LOOKS nice on the pizza!)

I couldn't find his bar at bedtime, but was optimistic I'd find it before I came to bed. He sure looks more comfy without it!
I did find the bar,  and of course woke him putting it on. Not wishing away his life at all, but I'm sure ready for the end of boots and bar!

The Many Faces of Judah

Aren't they cute?

Pretty sunrise this morning, all things considered.

Judah having fun buying flooring and rugs at Costco.  This is why kid have dads. Mom would never.

New battery came for his train and it works.  I'm honestly not sure he was nearly as excited as the other kids.  But then,  they're the ones who've been pushing him so he probably doesn't know it didn't work and they're probably tired of pushing!

Puerto Rican night tonight.   Meals have been so lame.  Between no time thanks to sweet Judah,  and no care thanks to sweet Judah (causing my limited diet), it's just been such a rut. I've been trying to meal plan the last few weeks and make real meals.  We're also making progress with food,  praise Jesus ,  thank you all who've been praying!

Tonight we had Asopao de pollo- chicken and rice stew. Not bad.  Better than bison again!

I forgot to buy plantains, so no tostones, but tembleque was dessert.  A coconut pudding. I didn't try it because there was corn, but everyone but Selah and Elijah loved it. Pictures didn't come out great.  Honestly,  it wasn't the biggest win but I felt like I tried, at least! It wasn't gross,  just not exciting.  And it gave us a conversation topic- Puerto Rico.

More faces of Judah.  Dad let him play in the pot.

Under the cloth is flooring.Bryan made some progress but We Forgot we needed to do the ceiling first.

He decided against buying a sprayer. His neck hurts already. Been there, done that.  I'll cook dinner.

Judah was very uncomfortable tonight. No wet diaper after maybe 4pm, probably just too much fluid in there. We rocked and rocked and finally he settled. Then I tried to move into the bed and he flipped and flipped and squirmed again. He finally found a good spot and I was able to write this. Now MY neck hurts.

Where Did My Baby Go?

That face.  Hard to believe he'll turn into a teen someday... and I know it'll feel like this was yesterday when that happens.

Bryan got some sub-floor in today.  Thankfully, work kept him busy all day and he helped a bunch this evening with Judah so he didn't have much time to work on it.

What a silly thing to say, but now we've decided to rip it out and forgo carpet for vinyl plank and rugs. Less work and money.  So at least he didn't waste too much time.

Still Alive

Just busy.  And overwhelmed with everything.

Elijah is getting over a cold (not covid) and everyone else is fine.  Back to school is a struggle. The lack of sun is a struggle. Everyone else is getting lots of beautiful snow and are just miserably cold but snow less over here.

It's all good. I'll become more positive eventually.  Until then,  I'll try to keep quiet about how much I wish I lived elsewhere. It could be so much worse...Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria,  California...

A few recents from today-

Second time in a shopping cart,  not baby carrier on mama. He wasn't sure what to think.  And then he started throwing everything he could on the ground! Phone, wallet, and any groceries he could grab.

Also, that inflation thing is no joke.  Over 400$ and my cart wasn't even full.  And no fun seasonal items! Just food and a box of diapers.

Looking all grown up. And boy is he a climber.

Rare snuggle. Elijah was so so so excited. Lasted a good 15 seconds,  too!

I told you I don't like applesauce,  Dad.

Except when i can put my finger in the spout.

Winter sunrises are always pretty.

That makes 2 bedrooms framed.  It's been a crazy lot of work for Bryan.  Lots of mistakes.  But he persevered!
