Honor Graduate!

He's starting out as an E-3, thanks for his Civil Air Patrol Accomplishments. (Most are E-1.)

He is the only one in his flight who received the Honor Graduate award. (This takes into account their PT score, written test scores, and requires a recommendation from the Squadron Commander. You also cannot have gotten into trouble for anything.)

He shot expert on the rifle.

Most graduate with one lone ribbon. Noah has the Trifecta.

He's a homeschooled 17 year old.

It's all about attitude and hard work. And I'm proud to say, his was in check the whole time.

He volunteered for everything he could. He helped out in anyway possible. He let nothing get him down. He did what he needed to do.

We are so proud of this kid. Pray for him to keep up his excellency as he heads off to Tech School on Friday!

Today is actual graduation. I'll post more pictures when I have some time.

Hello, Sun! (err...Texas.)

You know what they say, everything is bigger in Texas. Including the temperature and the speed limit- which sit at 89 and 85, respectively.

It has been a long day, made longer by flight delays, and we still have over an hour until we get to our rental house, as we flew into Austin rather than San Antonio.

That all being said, Jude was an angel on the plane, our luggage arrived with us, there was barely a wait for the rental car, and the plane didn't crash!

Tomorrow's one of two down days. We were originally getting in even later tomorrow night and would then have to be up with the sun to get to Base for Noah's stuff. That sounded like a really awful time with a 2 year old (or without), so now we have the day to sleep in, grocery shop, and try to find ways to stay cool in the 100plus Temps.

Fresh eggs from some friends for breakfast. So yummy.

Escalator fun while Dad checked in and Mom parked the car. (No authorities were called, so there is that.)

Waiting on that plane! That was late, and then needed maintenance.  Which turned out to be a system upto the computer systems that fly the plane. Hmmm,  maybe not a reassuring piece of info. Seems everytime something electronic of mine updates, it stops working.

Ready to go!

A quick peek of the sunset. The kids had the full experience but it was wasted on them, as they were more interested in their screens.

Good thing i know this guy, he's seriously invading my space! (We flew spirit. They arent the best for anyones cimfort, but certiably for those over like 5 ft 8.)

Peace for all, except my arm.

Finally, as we prepared to land, we thought to move the arm rest and lie him down.

And now we have a chatty 2 year old at 1 am in the car because he took a decent nap on the plane!
