The Fifth Day of Christmas

Books were under the tree today, but I failed to take a picture of the kids reading. Clearly, I was busy elsewhere because that's all they really did all day.

Judah LOVES books, and every animal roars.

Sadly, he still doesn't love to eat. Bryan tried putting a plate with pears on the living rooms floor thinking he may eat it "off the floor."

He did squish it. But didn't want to eat it. Pray for him! We're hopeful progress is right around the corner.

I hope Elijah never loses his love of helping. With projects. Eventually it'll be helpful!  He really enjoyed caulking today. It was sweet but I should have picked a less conspicuous area for him to help with.

This was supposed to showcase the stark differnec between caulk and no caulk. (Left and right.) However, at least on my phone, not stark like it is in real life. I bought paint today. I fear I'm going to hate it because it is too dark (I like the color, but don't want dark walls.) We shall soon see.

The kids did a great job of helping with Judah today. And this was apparently a fave, jumping on the tent from the outside. Thankfully, no children were hurt in the partaking of this fun.

The Third Day of Christmas

Surprisingly no pictures, but it was family game day.  Chameleon,  throw throw avocado, farkle, and s couple faith based ones

But these suckers were in their stockings, courtesy Selah sticking them up on the belt at the store.  Little sticky ninja men. And they keep scaring me.  I'm clearly not over the cockroaches we had in GA back in the early 2000s. That's what I think of every time one of these scares me as I walk around in the dark.

Also,  not a white Christmas this year.  CO got one though.  So jealous.  However, we did have snow 2 days before Christmas and now 2 days after. It's just so pretty,  even just a little.

He's getting better at the present opening!

And playing some alone.
Little mini Nutella snack.

You'd think with 5 boys and one girl this would never happen. But here we are.

Book club book really hitting me hard today. Guess I need to stop desiring to live elsewhere.

One last hurrah with Gabe before he heads back to Maine. Too bad my kids can't smile AND look at the camera.

They are loving the fan tent! Sleeping in it again!

The Fourth Day of Christmas

Lego Day!

Gaming room in the house Micah got. Twice the size of the kitchen. (Modern priorities, obviously.) Also,  the shower has a see through glass window in it (full length). And the dad is cooking while the mom plays electric guitar (on the box). Bizarre.

We're trying to get the wainscoting done and the walls painted (pray for me as I pick a color?! Stupidest prayer request ever, others need so much more important things. But I'm so stressed, especially since I already wasted money on the first color.)

Here's Judah,  helping Daddy with the measurements for the wainscoting.  Such a sweet helper.

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas!

We went to mass tonight,  which was crowded but not overly so.

Prior to Mass, Jonah and Judah were checking out the tree.

After Mass, I just wanted a decent picture of Judah in his cute little outfit. I set him in front of the tree and before I can back up enough for a picture,  he's after a car under the couch.

Best we got. This age is hard!

Time to decorate the tree!

Enough of that.  The kids draw names for secret Santa gifts amongst themselves.  But Selah,  Micah,  and Elijah all bought Judah something at the st Nick Shop at the partnership. Even though none of them had Judah. And 2 of them bought him drums. Which he did like.

This is Elijah trying to convince Judah that the other drum set (the one HE bought him)  is better.
Checking out the tree with Dad.

We are done! Just gotta make that bottle for Judah and to bed we go!

Pre-Christmas Eve Post

Catching up on this week right quick!

Judah tried some cooked pears. Sort of. He didn't like chunks so I blended them. That actually appeared to go worse. He did not like them. But they didn't seem to cause a reaction! So partial win. We'll keep trying.

Not a CO sunset, buy a nice one the other night..

My little slaves helping with Christmas cards. So if your card came all wonky, this is why.

Sweet little guy sleeping with his legs tucked up underneath.

   I guess he sensed me...

Package came in the mail, it brings out all the children, especially when they find out there's chocolate!

Just a grin.

Daddy gave Judah a bath because mom wasn't home (went to a CAP senior member dinner. And had water! 😂) Dad is way more fun. Bubbles were the game.

It was a long bath! Dad said he had prune feet to go with the prune belly!

Gabe is hoke for Christmas! Coast Guard seems to be treating him okay, but we were sure happy to have him for a few minutes. And after an hour of two of diligent work, he was able to win Judah over and he stopped screaming at the sight of him.

Brother snuggles. Judah style. (He's a bit rough and tough and not so snuggly.)

Went to Lowes this am for a tree. I won on waiting...but that meant not driving out to a farm and cutting our own. Will try again next year. But the tree was half price (should have been less than that IMO) and all the other Christmas stuff was 75 percent off. So the kids got real trees for their rooms for $5

If you have a 9 foot ceiling, maybe don't buy a tree from the 9-10 foot range!

Elijah was entertaining a grumpy baby post nap. It worked!
