We have left FL, and are now in SC. We were supposed to stay at Hunter Army Airfield, but apparently their online reservations doesn't work, so our reservation didn't go through and they were booked. (Kind of sad, since we lived in Augusta almost 4 yrs and never made it to Savannah. I was looking forward to it.) So we decided if it was going to cost us real hotel prices, we would just go to Hilton Head Island instead. So, we are about 15 miles out, and decided that since we were getting in so late, we would just stay 2 nights so that we can enjoy it tomorrow! It means that Wednesday will be more crammed, but we probably won't be back down here anytime soon (as Bryan said never again in the car, next time we fly!) So we are going to enjoy a mini-vacation in the middle of our trip, this is the only time we aren't visiting with family-not that we haven't been having a blast! We have had a
great time so far, but the kids (and us) could use a little downtime with some naps! Wouldn't it be great to not get in the car at all tomorrow? It is possible, though unlikely. Here's to more sand...
