Just Here for a Cold.

The last peaceful moment last night.  After this they swabbed him for COVID, the flu, and RSV (all one (very intense) swab and all negative,  thankfully.)

That was the easy part. Then they tried for an IV. Three times. All three failed. But the attempts plus the time spent looking for a vein and warming his hands and arms totalled over an hour. A very painful hour. Broken up in the middle with some food and a little nap. Only to be woken up to the same torture once again. Thankfully, that was enough and they decided to wait on  the IV.

Things were much better when we made it up to the Peds floor. A quick exam by the doc and then lights out. Sadly, it was already 5am but no one bugged us again until 7 and we both got a little nap.
That nap led to happy morning time, even in the hospital.
Judah has been nursing better and better, but we seem to have a hindmilk imbalance and things are even better if I pump and give him a bottle after he nurses. He LOVES his bottles. He never wants them to stop.

This is the face you get when the bottle runs dry. And a lot of angry yelling.
Clearly, his brain was a bit slow to catch up to his stomach, because this was 30 seconds later. Nothing better- except for smiles.
