Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

Our tomb cookies were a big of a failure this year. No tomb inside and uncooked.  We cooked them for a few hours and ate delicious merengue later in the morning.

Happy little Easter morning children.
They stayed busy eating candy and building legos for 2 whole hours.

Micah loves his panda family.

Selah's camping set came with a hot tub and cocktails...as well as lipstick.  I think we will pay better attention next time.

We adventured out to a battlefield to do an Easter egg hunt. We found a small, never- heard-of one hoping it would be open. It kinda was. The parking lot was closed and there were police parked there but you could walk the trails if walked in. So we parked on there street in the neighborhood with everyone else.  It was actually the most crowded place we've been in weeks. Guess others had the same idea or they all lived in the neighborhood there.

They were so happy for space and green grass they had to be bribed to stop rolling down the hill.

We actually had everyone this time.  And they all love cannons.

Oops. It actually wasn't by this cannon.  It was across the way by another.  The kids say it only applied to the other cannon because it wasn't secured well. Any which way, that was the end of their cannon fun.

Easter Egg Hunting

And then there was a train.  So Elijah ended up with way less eggs because he was distracted. I do love his excitement.

We found horses as we continued on our way.

Note the empty police car in this parking lot, too.

An old cemetary

A very old barn, no info though.

Mr Roadmaker

He's filling holes on the path.

In case you thought you might want to come mow here for fun one day, you can't.

Also,  I guess people kept fishing after the first sign was posted and it needed to be specified that wasn't allowed either.

Peaceful little scene these days.  But it was actually a winner camp where almost a thousand soldiers died of disease during the civil war.

They built these little cabins to have mor protection than their tents could offer. 4-8 men lived in each.  I guess 7 of us in 682 sqft isn't so bad!

Someone was begging to stay and play.

But he perked up after Red Robin takeout and some sherbert! He'd never had sherbert because we'd never found dye-free before.

And some warm tapioca for those of us who didn't want anything cold.  (Although, most everyone had both.)
We also finished the last round of House of Danger. Disappointing ending we chose, but it was a fun time as a family.

Not a typical Easter, but we were thrilled to be together as a family.
