Stitches weren't enough.

He had to go for the whole package. Brought Jonah to the ER last night because he leg had been continually swelling all day and by 10 he was in quite a bit of pain and had spiked a fever. Took the doctor all of 20 seconds to decide he was being admitted for aggressive treatment with IV antibiotics. So here's his new home for a few days. Not sure how long we'll be here, it all depends on how deep the infection is and how well/quickly it responds to the meds. Poor kid just wants to go home and sleep. We finally got situated in a room about 2 and then were up for good at 530. And in those three and a half hours his machine alarmed at least 5 times. What fun. Now we are waiting for the orthopedic surgeon to come look at it. The good news is he says it actually feels a bit better already. And his thigh and calf are no longer painful to touch. Their biggest worry is the infection being in the
joints, but the ER docs felt that was unlikely since the injury was so recent. And Jonah's being quite the trooper. He's completely annoyed with the whole situation and just wants to go home and sleep but he's taking it all pretty well overall.
