The bad news- we lost the IV. The nurse came in to change out his bag of fluids and I realized I was all wet. At first, I thought his diaper leaked, but despite being on fluids, his diaper was totally dry.
So I started to look around for the cause and he had somehow ripped that IV out. Crazy as it was well taped and protected. Even stranger, it had started leaking into his hand first, as his hand is all swollen. I guess it's good he ripped it out before it got worse. It would have had to come out anyway.
They have a team of nurses who just do IVs, and they come with special ultrasound machine to aid them. Sadly, she couldn't find anything useful in either arm. But she was a Michigan state fan, poudly advertising, so at least we felt more understood for a minute.
Now we are waiting for some one from the PICU to come try with their special light. They put it under the hand/arm and it kinda makes it see through. The light worked in the ER yesterday, despite his dehydration so I hope it works today. Praying she is good and gets it on the first try.
