Still Free.

PICU came. Found nothing in the arms. Tried twice in the foot and they both blew. They aren't sending inexperienced nurses, they're the ones who are the best at this. He has tiny veins and it's always hard to get him, even just for a blood draw. Obviously, this is frustrating.

The nurse notified the doc and is awaiting guidance. The PICU nurse suggested they try an NG tube, which he is going to hate. The only other choice would be to wait for day shift but it's unlikely anyone else will have better luck.

The other option would be to stop fluids, but he's barely wetting diapers on them, and we know he isn't eating and drinking. Unlikely.

Also, of note, looks like he may have a rash developing on his chest. If so...perhaps Roseola is the correct diagnosis. Or he's allergic to the antibiotics. Who knows. I don't regret coming in even if it is Roseola, as he certainly needed the fluids and I think it was prudent to have cultures run.

Once again, we wait and try to sleep.

* Doc has said wait on day team to come in and have them try for an IV. Please pray goes well!
