Doc came in, said we would be switching to a different antibiotic again., this time nitrofurantoin. The sensitivities came back a little different than expected, I guess. The good news is, he's been on that one before when we were trying different ones to help his GI troubles. It was the one that was over 2k a month. Thank God for insurance.
He also said they'd still send us home today. Huge relief. Originally he said we needed to try the new med for a few hours, but since he's already had it, they said we could go home now! As we were leaving he, he called and said we were back to the first oral med, cefixime, for the duration of the treatment and then switching to nitrofurantoin instead of Bactrim for prophylaxis once that round was complete.
I actually love this idea, simply because he will have these stents for another 6 weeks or so and I really don't want a repeat. Nitrofurantoin seems wiser since it specially treats what we're dealing with.
Helping Mama pack up his toys.
He washed to brush his teeth when he saw me brushing mine, but he wasn't willing to give up the car or the crayon.
Dressed and waiting!
