Surgery is going well, but they couldn't get the caudal catheter, which was planned to be used for an epidural for pain management for a few days, to lay right. So he will not have the benefits of the epidural, but they will give him a single injection there at the end of surgery to last for a few hours.
This isn't the end of the world, but pain post-op tends to be pretty bad. Many PBS parents recommended the epidural and said it was what made the biggest difference for them.
Please pray we can stay on top of the pain, but also keep the big drug use as low as we can.
