Someone bashed his face trying to climb into a giant stockpot and got his first bloody nose today. He screamed for a minute, then wanted Dad. Let out a couple more cries and then asked for the cuckoo. So Dad wound it around a couple of times to appease him and he was all better. I asked if we could bring that clock to the hospital next week!
(Also, I couldn't figure out how to spell wound because it looked like wound- like I need a bandaid for my wound. That's because they're spelled the same. And wind the clock is spelled like the wind blew. This, y'all, is another reason English is so frustrating.)
Our homeschool group had a Valentine's Day party today. Much to the kids disappointment we didn't go, because we're trying to avoid illness. But I did off their boxes and treats and a friend did the rest. We picked them up this evening and they were so excited. Ugh on the sugar and dyes...
Then, there was today's main event- EJ's First Reconciliation! He did great. Loved it because he said it felt SO good afterward, and had a brownie blizzard to celebrate. He also looked smashing in his suit with Solanus Casey pin.
The kids got to stay up to watch the men's snowboard half pipe finals. And then I caught them at 1030 still up playing with their new rubik's cubes! EJ is just out of sight on the floor. Feigning sleep.
Thanks to Noah, they already know a ton of tricks and are pretty fast at solving. If only they were all so excited to learn their math...
I leave you with today's quote-
E: can you imagine not having A/C in your car?!
Yes, indeed I can. We didn't have it in our cars OR our house growing up!
E:oh. Right. Your parents STILL don't have it! Man, that must be rough. Or at least hot.
Why was he discussing A/C? Because it was 33 degrees today and he thought it felt like Spring! Funny how that suddenly feels so warm!
