The Littlest One

I had an ultrasound on Thursday. Love little peeks at the baby! Unfortunately, with everything going on with Micah, Bryan couldn't take off and they are really against kids coming to appointments, so I was the only one who got to enjoy it. It was great, though. "He" was adorable-flipping around, kicking, flailing his arms, even curled up in a ball once. I could have watched him all day! He's got everything he needs now (he's 12 weeks). We could see his little fingers, ears, nose, and the division of the hemispheres in his brain. All his organs have developed, though some of them have a lot of growing to do to be functioning. But it is so nice to see him and know everything is there, he just needs to grow. He's over 2 inches long, not including his legs. (I believe they liken it to the size of a lime.) I'll stop gushing now and just share the pictures!
Previously posted ultrasound picture taken January 6 at 8 wks.

Here he is waving. Head is left, you can see the ear toward the bottom. His arm is bent, you can see his fingers there by his head at the top. Part of his leg is visible at the bottom.

Great profile shot. You can see his nose, mouth, and chin clearly.

Waving again.

Flailing his arms and kicking me. See his skinny little legs at the bottom? You can even see his feet.

Stretching out his legs. Good shot of his ear at the bottom of his head.

It's gotta be a boy- look at him scaring Selah already!
She was hilarious as when I told her he was trying to scare her she said she was going to scare him back and yelled BOO at him!

You can see the line if you look closely, they were just measuring him. He's measuring about 2 days bigger than he was at the last ultrasound. Not significant, but I don't think Selah ever measured big in her life...

Full body shot. His feet look so big since they have no fat on them!

Here's when we got to hear his heartbeat. I believe she said 154 beats per minute.Right where it should be. (Crazy how fast a baby's heart beats, isn't it? That's almost 3 beats per second!)
