Aunt Dianne and Uncle Mickey came up to visit! I failed to take a picture with Uncle Mickey, but did get a cute one of Aunt Dianne and Judah "working" together.
Proof that boredom is good for all persons...
An old memory, a visit with the Strawsers back when all the kids would still be with us (except that one that wasn't born yet!)
Another old memory. Elijah, almost 2, still bald. Sometimes I question my memory when I say my kids took forever to grow hair. Then I see this and realize I did not make it up.
This one has had the most hair of all of them, I do believe.
We went to a gradutation party and the kids had so much fun.
"Mom, we went on an adventure in the woods and I found you some flowers!"
Such a sweet kid.
Jonah is currently in the Philippines with his girlfriend and her family. He sent a couple of pictures from an island they visited.
Early morning snuggles, hiding from the flash.
This one is for the kids when they look back on this years from now. Our parish priest just celebrated his 15th anniversary, and this was taken at his first Mass.
Back to the topic of potentially faulty memories, I often say the sun rises at 5 am here in the summer. Then I second guess myself- until it is summer again. This was taken at 5:13am. And today, I was up at 5:03 and there was light in the sky. As someone who cannot sleep when the sun is up, I have a love-hate with the summer sun here. Better than no sun, for sure, but there are less than 8 hours of darkness a night right now!
Bryan and I met some friends for a Tigers game last week. The rain was supposed to clear by game time but it did not quite make it. Of course we did not take a picture with said friends, just the clouds and great seats. Probably for the best, as we did get wet and my hair was frightening.
Still dealing with the sideways photo thing, but I'll have a new phone in a month. Maybe it will be better in Italy. Just a picture of my ornery three year old looking handsome for a Confirmation Mass but refusing to smile at the camera. He spends too much time with the teens, it seems.
This one is a thinker, like Noah was. He hasn't destroyed any perfectly good items by taking them apart to figure out how they work yet (that I know of) but he does love to ponder and explore. He spent some time figuring out how the vacuum worked this week.
Slither, as a baby. I should share the "Slither is dead" story sometime, it's still a favorite laugh. This was 2013, and he died in 2020.
2011, Jonah's hospital stay for biting his own leg.
It's moments like these that make me realize how lucky we are for modern medicine. Pre-antibiotics, he would likely have died from that infection. As it was, he spent 4 days in the hospital on IV anitbiotics! The first 2 days, too sick to even eat.
Once he perked up, he remembers little other than how great the food ways and how much he loved ordering whatever he wanted!
The more accurate story is that Jonah was on an inflatable water slide and someone jumped, causing him to fly off the top and hit the ground. His teeth went into his knee when he landed. We had it cleaned and stitched at the ER, but did not fill the antibiotic right away. We filled it the following afternoon, as Bryan and Jonah were headed to a Tigers game with friends. Jonah had to be carried out of the stadium, barely 24 hours after the injury and was admitted that night. Mouth bacteria, even your own, is no joke!
