Even more importantly, please pray for wisdom. For the doctors and their plan, and us and our ability to feel comfortable/ agree with the plan.
We will know more after we meet with the urologist, but the plan has been surgery in January. It's almost January. And I've read a number of posts recently where Prune Belly parents regret the surgery or just had lots of complications.
It's making us nervous. We are wondering if we should wait on the abdominoplasty. It seems wisest to do it all since he'll be out anyway but the recovery can be rough. And some people have gone backwards after it. Like suddenly having to do catheters. Also common is temperment issues from sedation and withdrawal from pain meds.
And that's all just assuming things go well in general.
Judah is doing SO well. He really has had very few complications, I find the clubfoot to be more of a daily struggle. So the thought of more complications rather than less is scary.
His ureters NEED fixed. It may be why he doesn't sleep at night. He doesn't urinate at night, and it can be more for than 12 hours. In that time he consumes between 12 and 20 ounces of milk that is just stuck in there. Doesn't seem comfy to me, either! I'm hoping maybe it'll improve his sleep.
But the abdominoplasty may not be as necessary yet, since he does have SOME stomach muscles and he's hitting his milestones. So maybe we need to wait on that. We are torn, please pray we choose right!
Okay, that is all. Pray for guidance and if you can start praying that the surgery will be successful with quick, easy recovery.. that'd be great, too!
