Hens, Planes, and Snow

This is Henny. She's Micah's Easter Hen.

Oh. Well, she was. There is still a panic around supplies here and chicken is hard to come by. I guess he couldn't help himself.

She sure was a good chicken.  Laid many chocolate eggs for him.

Weather's a bit crazy today.  Evidence of a tornado Via radar. Of course,  Bryan and I were out grocery shopping for the week and the kids were home alone in a 4th floor apartment. Blessedly, if it touched down, it wasn't at our place. Also, beautiful day when the rain stopped!

We didn't get to enjoy the beautiful day though. Selah and I headed back to CO today.

We took Noah,  too, but he wanted to sit in his own row. 17 people on the plane, including the flight attendants.  I suppose 19 with pilots.

We flew out of Reagan, and the skies had cleared, so we actually saw some landmarks!
It was weird leaving at 1800 and having the sun out the whole flight...well, until we started our descent and dipped below the clouds. Then we saw they hadn't lied about the snow.

The airport was literally empty. Scary/ creepy empty.
It was almost 2300 Eastern and poor Selah hadn't had dinner because nothing was open at the airport when we left.  Luckily McDonald's was open in Denver so a happy meal made for a happy kid.  The eating outside in the cold waiting for the parking shuttle, less so.

Noah was our lookout.

It finally came and we made the harrowing drive home safely!

I wasn't kidding about the cold!
