Years ago, I researched the best donut places. Duck Donuts was on every list. So when looking at local food around Kitty Hawk, I was quite excited to see a Duck Donuts. And then, i thought about the fact that the city just North of us was named Duck. Could it be? Yes! It was! Duck Donuts was founded in Duck, NC. Well, how could we not?!
As we prepared to leave for donuts, the kids asked why the neighbors had a turtle statue covered in moss. I replied, well, everything think here has stuff growing on it thanks to the hunidity. Look at the roof!
A minute later they became quite excited when they saw the statue move! Poor turtle needs a good scrubbing!
Sadly, even at turtle pace, he had disappeared by the time we got back. The kids tried finding him but were unsuccessful.
