Who does she think she is???

I know what you're thinking. It's what I would be thinking if I saw someone else's kid like this. That's why they make a seat belt! Well, let me tell you...I'm not that thick. The problem in "Selah's highchair" (which, by the way she refuses to use and will only use "Bikey's highchair" now) is that the belt is designed in such a way that no matter how tight I get it, she can excape. (We have this problem in the stroller, too. 5-point harness and all, it's horrible.) Now in "Bikey's highchair" I can securely strap her in. But she's smarter than that. She will announce that she is "DONE!" And you will unbuckle her. And THEN she will scream and say "NOT DONE!!". So you leave her and get more food. The next thing you know, she's sitting like this. So you try to strap her back in. And she screams and throws a fit. Now, we all know how Selah is a struggle to feed. SO, 'round here, you go out
of your way to feed her. You play her games for fear she might wither away. Sigh. This is how she ends up like this. (Now I don't let her STAY like this while she eats, instaed we play the "sit DOWN, Selah" game. It's loads of fun and super easy. All you have to do is say "sit DOWN, Selah" everytime she stands up. Which is about every 3-4 seconds.) Gotta love her.

That game is fun! I play the 'take your feet off the table' game with Jacie every night. But we did away with the high chair a long time ago and put her at the table in a booster. Something about being at the table with the rest of us made her behave just a tad bit better. A tad. Of course, she eats like a pig and may explode one day - so maybe she could learn a thing or two from Selah.
